Enjoy an urban, meandering, adventuresome, and beautifull view of the Boston waterfront. Start out at North Station, with a great close-up view of the Zakim Bridge, and then cross the Charles over the Charles River Locks. Stop to watch a boat or two pass through, or keep on going, walking right across the giant lock gates. Cross the Charles again on the Washington Street Bridge, and slowly meander either back to North Station (the short route), or keep on going to Haymarket, to round out the last bit of that mile.
